At the beginning, Nicole told me she wanted to do the first look and photo session on the deck at the top of the venue. Since it was midday and the sun was intensely hot, I suggested moving the session to the stable instead. I was concerned that the groomsmen, all in suits, might overheat, and I thought we could save the deck photos for later when the sun was lower.
At the same time, I imagined how the horses might interact with the couple during such an emotional moment. Horses are naturally curious—I thought they might gather around and quietly observe.
And they did.
Not only did the horses come close, but their presence brought a sense of warmth and joy. Family members gathered as well, watching the moment unfold with laughter and delight.
After the ceremony, the couple was more relaxed. We took the opportunity to have a few spontaneous photo sessions around the barn, now under a gentler temperature, with small, unscripted moments happening all around us.
Nicole and Edward’s October wedding was a picture-perfect blend of rustic charm, elegant simplicity, and heartfelt family moments. Set against the golden hues of fall, their day unfolded beautifully—from the sparkle of their rings to the emotional first look in a sunlit barn.
A Touching Surprise: The Mother–Daughter Dance
One of the most unforgettable moments of the night was Nicole’s surprise parent dances. She planned not only a touching father–daughter dance, but also a mother–daughter dance—a rare and incredibly meaningful tribute. While many brides honor their mothers with a bouquet dedication, Nicole took it a step further, creating a moment of shared laughter, tears, and pure love beneath the glow of the reception tent lights.
A Cozy Backyard Reception Under the Tent
Their tent wedding reception felt intimate and inviting, surrounded by close friends and family. Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the backyard, where the autumn breeze carried laughter and the scent of warm appetizers. We captured a stunning overhead photo from the second-floor balcony, showcasing everyone gathered together—a memory that perfectly encapsulated the spirit of their day.
Sunset Romance by the Lake
As the evening light softened, Nicole and Edward slipped away for a few moments alone by the lake. The sunset cast the sky in delicate shades of rose and lavender—an idyllic backdrop for their romantic portraits. The still water, tall grass, and soft reflections turned this moment into pure cinematic magic.
Dancing the Night Away
The night ended with joyful energy on the black-and-white checkered dance floor, laughter echoing under the tent. Between spins and smiles, it was clear—this celebration was authentically them.
Nicole and Edward’s barn wedding in New Jersey was more than just a beautiful day—it was a heartfelt reflection of their love story, filled with personal touches, family warmth, and the cozy spirit of fall.
Nicole and Edward, your day was a perfect reflection of your love — warm, genuine, and full of heart. May your marriage continue to grow with the same happiness and laughter that surrounded you on your wedding day.
