Facing the ever-changing shimmer of the lake, I was fascinated. I first took a photo of the water itself, then went to Taylor and told him I wanted to place the two of them against this beautiful backdrop. He agreed.
To my surprise, Taylor seemed inspired as well. He paused, quietly watching the lake, and soon found the perfect moment for a quick photo session—one that became a highlight of the day.
Mountain Lake is a small but captivating venue. It slopes gently toward the water, turning the lake into a natural backdrop. As the sun sets behind the venue, it casts a constantly shifting light across the surface—transforming the lake from bright, sparkling reflections into a warm golden glow.
One moment that stayed with me happened during the sunset session by the lake. Since summer sunsets often overlap with the peak of the party, I had to keep the session brief and let them return quickly to their guests. As I released them back to the dance floor, Natalie suddenly grabbed Taylor’s hand and ran toward the lake house, her sneakers peeking out beneath her dress. It was such a spontaneous and joyful moment.
It reminded me of Christina's World—a sense of movement, emotion, and something just beyond reach. I quickly captured a few frames, holding onto that fleeting mix of happiness and anticipation.
What a breathtaking celebration at the Mountain Lakes House in Princeton, NJ! 💍🌿This venue truly is a hidden gem in the heart of Princeton. Over the years, we’ve captured several events here, and every time we’re reminded of how magical this setting is—the lake shimmering in the background, the peaceful greenery, and the sense that nature itself is celebrating alongside the couple. The day began with personal touches that spoke volumes about who they are. From heirloom jewelry and elegant shoes to custom floral ties and cufflinks, every detail was carefully chosen. Guests were welcomed with napkins featuring their beloved dog and cat 🐾—a sweet reminder that family comes in all forms. Surrounded by their closest friends,Natalie shared a beautiful “first look” with her gown that had everyone smiling and cheering. Tyler and his groomsmen looked sharp in their light suits with matching floral ties, bringing a perfect summer touch of style and charm. The day was a perfect blend of joy and elegance. Their first dance by the lake was nothing short of cinematic—the golden light reflecting off the water mirrored the glow in their smiles. Later, we watched them cut into a simply elegant cake, share heartfelt toasts, and dance the night away under the open tent with loved ones. Every moment felt timeless. 💫We’d also love to give a special shoutout to Emily’s Café & Catering, who outdid themselves with an incredible menu. Joe (our resident foodie and experienced home cook!) has tasted his way through New Jersey’s catering scene over the past two decades, and even he was impressed. No wonder our couples are so excited about Emily’s—the food truly does live up to the buzz. 👏🍴And of course, Natalie looked absolutely radiant thanks to the artistry of Meli, a makeup artist we’ve had the joy of working with many times. Her glowing, natural look matched the light and happiness of the day perfectly. 💄✨Here’s to Natalie & Tyler—a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventures as radiant as the lakefront sunset that witnessed your vows. 💚Congratulations, you two! 🥂
