[Photographer's Film Note] : I picked up a roll of Kodak Gold 200 to capture the golden season at Kelli and Maciej’s wedding! Its warm, nostalgic color palette offered a different look from the vivid colors and crisp sharpness of digital photography.
In autumn, as the leaves turn yellow and brown, the landscape naturally takes on a warmer atmosphere. But on a sunny day like Kelli and Maciej’s wedding day, the clear blue sky stood out against the golden foliage, creating a striking contrast between complementary colors.
Kodak Gold 200 rendered the blue sky with a hint of teal while softening the intensity of the yellow leaves. Rather than emphasizing the strong contrast between the two colors, the film brought them together in a gentler, more nostalgic palette that suited the season.
Kelli and Maciej's autumn wedding is truly special, especially on a day filled with sunshine, heartfelt moments, and the warmth of family and friends.
Kelli and Maciej celebrated their beautiful wedding with a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Alpha, New Jersey, followed by a joyful reception at Hawk Pointe Golf Club in Washington, NJ.
The day began with sweet anticipation as Kelli got ready for one of the most memorable moments of her life. Before the ceremony, she shared two emotional first reveals, one with her bridesmaids and another with her dad. Seeing their reactions to Kelli in her wedding gown made these moments even more meaningful.
Unlike many modern weddings, Kelli and Maciej saved their first look for the church. They waited until Kelli walked down the aisle to see each other for the first time that day. Surrounded by their loved ones, they exchanged vows in a beautiful Catholic ceremony, beginning their marriage with love, faith, and tradition.
After the ceremony, we headed to Hawk Pointe Golf Club for wedding portraits. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful fall afternoon! The sunshine, autumn colors, and picturesque golf course provided a wonderful backdrop for romantic portraits and fun moments with their wedding party.
The celebration continued inside Hawk Pointe's bright and elegant reception space, beautifully decorated with white florals, greenery, and candlelight. Personal touches throughout the room, including childhood photographs at the guest tables, made the celebration feel especially warm and inviting.
One highlight of the evening was watching Kelli and Maciej cut their wedding cake, surrounded by family and friends. The room was filled with smiles, laughter, and heartfelt cheers as everyone celebrated the newlyweds. A candy bar and donut bar also satisfied every sweet tooth in the room.
And just when we thought the day couldn't get any more beautiful, the night offered one last romantic surprise: a full moon illuminating the sky. We took the opportunity to capture some intimate nighttime portraits of Kelli and Maciej, a magical ending to an unforgettable wedding day.
