In this wedding, I used a roll of Kodak Gold 200. It was quite interesting to see how this film interpreted the light reflected from the buildings across the Princeton campus. Even in broad daylight, the color of the light bouncing off the stone walls was surprisingly noticeable.
Michael and Erica celebrated their wedding in the heart of Princeton, New Jersey, bringing together family, friends, and traditions for a beautiful and intimate celebration.
Their wedding day blended timeless Princeton elegance with meaningful Chinese traditions. Carefully chosen details included Erica's traditional red qipao, delicate red-and-gold accessories, and elements prepared for their Chinese tea ceremony. These personal touches made the day feel distinctly theirs and reflected the coming together of two families and cultures.
Before returning to Nassau Inn for the celebration, we explored the Princeton University campus with Erica and Michael for their couple's portraits. The university's stone archways, covered walkways, and historic architecture created such a romantic backdrop. Rather than making the portrait session feel overly formal, we let them walk, talk, and enjoy some quiet time together. Those in-between moments gave us some of our favorite photographs of the day.
Back at the historic Nassau Inn, their families and friends joined them for group portraits before gathering for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Afterward, everyone moved inside to continue the celebration in the ballroom.
The reception was filled with warmth, laughter, and family traditions. Erica changed into her vibrant red qipao, bringing another beautiful expression of her heritage into the evening. From her joyful entrance with Michael to dancing with her father and cutting their wedding cake together, the room was filled with candid moments that made the intimate wedding feel especially personal.
Erica also changed into the red dress at night, and we took romantic night shots at the Palmer Square.
We also loved how thoughtfully their details tied the entire celebration together. Soft pink, white, blue, and red flowers filled the tables, while touches of red and gold appeared throughout the day. Even the smallest pieces, from their rings and wedding stationery to the tea ceremony accessories, told another part of their story.
With the historic charm of Princeton University, the warmth of Nassau Inn, and traditions representing their families, Erica and Michael's wedding was a wonderful celebration of not only their marriage, but also the people and cultures that helped bring them together.
