On location shoot is weather permitting. Ideally, if I can just wake up and call my clients- “Hey, today is really perfect for the shoot, let’s go out and have fun!” , that will be nice. The clients I appreciate the most are trusting my professional judgement and have the flexibility on their schedule to go out for the shoot. Weather forecast is not always 100% accurate. Sometimes it takes a little faith. Contrary to common belief, my preferred weather for outdoor shoot is not necessarily “sunny”. Mostly cloudy or immediately after the rain is actually my favorite.
This summer begins with lots of rain. The past few dates are scattered with random thunderstorm. Leslie & Mike and I had been in constant contact to monitor the weather forecast as the shoot date is getting closer. On the original shoot date, it was so windy so we decided to take some risk and shoot on the next date. This time God rewarded us with a phenomenal cloud show. Yes, when the sky leads the show, as a photographer, I have to answer the call.
